How to Make Sure Your LinkedIn Profile is Verified or Not

As the world’s largest social media platform for professionals, LinkedIn can help you reach new professional heights. You must ensure you have a well-written, attractive, and, above all, credible LinkedIn profile.

To maximize your presence on LinkedIn, start by improving your profile. After all, it’s your first digital impression to potential business partners.

It would be best to keep a few things in mind when maintaining a digital presence. People tend to be critical of something they read online because of all the scams and misinformation. That means most people are skeptical about what they read online, including on social media profiles.

If you want to be successful online, do everything you can to increase the credibility of your profile.

This starts by showing how trustworthy you are. Not only must you be likable, but you must also prove your professional worth. Here are some things you should include in your profile:

  • A professional profile photo.
  • A background photo that reflects your interests.
  • A complete summary of your work experience.
  • A list of relevant skills.
  • An eye-catching and descriptive headline.

How to prove that your profile is authentic

To stand out from other workers in your field, verify your work email address on LinkedIn. This way, you can prove that you are telling the truth. Unfortunately, there are many liars on social media, from scammers to unqualified people. You must go a few steps ahead and demonstrate your credibility.

Recruiters are on alert when looking at profiles. They try to find out who lies in their “Work History” section.

Consider this an additional way to create a genuinely credible LinkedIn profile.

Luckily, it’s straightforward to do. It all starts on your company’s LinkedIn page. Once you type your organization name in the search bar, select View Page.

You’ll see a new option under the My Company heading and a section that says, “Open your employee-only experience.” Here, you can connect with coworkers and stay informed of company updates on LinkedIn. However, only employees of that company will see the news.

Select Verify Email Address. This takes you to a new page that asks you to enter your company email address. This way, you can confirm that you work with the company in the profile. Enter your email address in the box. Then, select Send Code.

LinkedIn then sends a code to your inbox. Please copy and paste it to complete the process. When you’re done, you’ll see a box at the bottom of the screen with a green check mark.

It lets you know you’ve successfully verified your work email on LinkedIn. This will improve your ability to connect with colleagues and other professionals online.
